Dear Sir/ Madam,
I am writing to apply for English teacher positions in Korea.
I am a native English speaker with a TESOL certificate and Economics degree. I used to work as an assistant teacher in a high school in Hong Kong, with duties such as teaching, preparing teaching resources, and holding school activities. Albeit my limited teaching experience, my very first teaching experience can be traced back to as far as 1997 when I was in high school. I was a part-time tutor in a tutorial school.
As for work ethic, I am a meticulous and well-organized person who always puts a finishing time on assignments and prioritizes them in order of importance. Through working in education sector so far, I have been enjoying my time in this sector more than any other employments I have worked for before. I have also learned that a well-developed relationship through communication with students is the first step to successful classroom management. That is why I have always put students’ interest on top and enjoy being with them (especially children) after school for activities as well as one-on-one conversation. We get familiar with each other soon after the start of school term!
When it comes to teaching, I am a humanist who believes motivation to learn should ultimately come from satisfaction within a learner rather than from external factors. It means that a learner would continue their journey of learning even after they have graduated. It is especially so when the target is a child since early development of interest in a language for a child can usually ensure future success in that language.
I am a pragmatic, flexible and resourceful person who welcomes constant challenges and is able to adapt to new ideas and changes within a very short time. I am glad to have experienced some different Asian cultures and lived in these countries such as Singapore, China, and Japan over the past 10 years or so. I am now finding a country to finish my Asian journey and I look forward to putting an end to the story with memorable Thai experience in your school.
